Privacy policy

Last updated: 2026-10-01

This policy explains what information AuctionsAPI (auctionsapi.com) collects when you use the website and the API, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

1Who we are

AuctionsAPI is the service at auctionsapi.com that provides vehicle data through an API. In this policy "we" means AuctionsAPI. You can reach us on @AuctionApiSupport.

2What we collect

We collect only what we need to answer you and to run the service:

  • Contact details you send through a form: the contact you type (a Telegram username, a phone number or an email) and, if you add it, a short message about what you need. We do not ask for your name.
  • Approximate location of the device that sent a form: when a form is sent, the IP address and the city, region, country and network it belongs to (looked up with ipinfo.io) are attached to the message, so we know where to answer from and can spot abuse.
  • Usage data: pages visited, clicks on links and buttons, the device and browser, collected by Google Analytics, Google Ads and Yandex Metrica. Yandex Metrica may record how a page is used (scrolls, clicks); code panels with keys are excluded from it.
  • Chat messages, if you use the chat window on the site (provided by Tidio).
  • For API customers: the API key, its plan, its status and the number of requests made with it, and for Pay per VIN the balance and the charges.

3What stays in your browser

When you apply an API key in the documentation or the live catalog, the key is saved in your browser's local storage, not on our servers. It is sent only with the requests you run, to the AuctionsAPI API, and you can remove it at any time with Reset. Your choices in the documentation (language of code samples, filters, ranges) are kept in local storage too.

4Why we use it

  • To answer your request and send you a demo key, the details and the price.
  • To provide the API: check keys, count requests, apply plan limits and Pay per VIN charges.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it, and to measure our advertising.
  • To keep the service safe and prevent abuse.

5Who receives it

We do not sell personal data. Data is processed by the services we use to run the site:

  • Telegram, where messages from our forms are delivered to our team; Telegram, when you write to us there; WhatsApp, when you leave your number so that we write to you there.
  • ipinfo.io, which returns the approximate location of an IP address.
  • Google (Analytics, Ads) and Yandex (Metrica), for statistics and advertising measurement.
  • Tidio, for the chat window.

6How long we keep it

We keep contact messages as long as we need them to talk to you and to serve you as a customer, and API account data as long as the key exists. Analytics data is kept according to the settings of the services above. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

7Your choices and rights

You can ask us what data we have about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to its use. Write to us on @AuctionApiSupport. You can block analytics and advertising cookies in your browser settings or with a blocker; the site keeps working without them.

8Changes

When this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
