About US car auctions

Copart and IAAI are the two largest online auctions for damaged and used cars in the USA. Insurers, banks, rental fleets and dealers sell there, and buyers include rebuilders, dismantlers and exporters from all over the world.

Each auction has its own pages and words: Stock # at IAAI and Lot # at Copart, primary damage, run and drive, title types. Our auction API brings both into one schema, with the odometer in miles and kilometres and damage as clean values.

When a car is sold, its final price arrives on its own and the lot moves to an archive that stays searchable by VIN. Specifications missing at the source are filled from the US government vPIC service, only when vPIC has a value.
