About the UK used car market

The UK is a right-hand drive market with a large used car trade. British cars are exported to Ireland, Cyprus, Malta and other right-hand drive countries, and dealers at home compare prices across several big sites.

British listings show the age through the registration plate (a 70 reg car was first registered in late 2020), the mileage in miles and the seller as trade or private. Our API gives you the year, the mileage in kilometres and the seller type as clean values.

Auto Trader UK is the largest of these sites, while Gumtree and PistonHeads bring private sellers and enthusiast cars. Salvage cars from Copart UK have their own page.
