Vehicles, lots and IDs

A vehicle is returned in data. Each vehicle can hold several auction records in lots, so keep the source and lot identity when you update your catalog.

data.idInternal vehicle ID.

lots[].idInternal lot-record ID.

lots[].lotSource lot number, used by the lot lookup.

lots[].external_idSource external vehicle ID. Use search_by_id=1 for this lookup mode.

vinStored vehicle identification number.

lots[].domain.idSource ID: 3 for Copart, 1 for IAAI.

{domain}Path value in the lot lookup: copart_com or iaai_com.

Filtering /cars selects vehicles that have a matching listing. The nested lots of a returned vehicle can include other records, so check each lot's source before you pick one to display.
